HISTOTRY OF KOMCCUL
KOMCCUL is a category one micro finance institution which started on the 15th of July 2019 by launching its operations. The idea of the creation of KOMCCUL was conceive by MBAIN ERICA ANDIENSA EPSE NGONG. She is a holder of a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) in ACCOUNTING AND FINANCE and a Bachelor of Science Degree (B.sc) in Banking and Finance from the University of Buea Cameroon. She caught the vision of KOMCCUL as a lecturer, after years of lecturing Banking and Finance courses especially the course Micro Credit Financing as a part time lecturer in Private Professional School around Douala one of which was ACCESS HIPS. The vision of KOMCCUL was presented to the FON of KOM his Royal Highness FON NDZI CLEMENT the 2nd who Blessed and supported the vision wholly sewing the First seed to its success. The vision of KOMCCUL was then presented to the KOM people in Douala a majority of the youths passionately bought the vision and the founding board was constituted. In keeping with the credit union roles according to the OHADA uniform art in relations to cooperatives and common initiative groups, KOMCCUL was registered with the Ministry of Agriculture by the meeting named WOIN KOM NJANGI group.
MBAIN ERICA ANDIENSA EPSE NGONG was voted as the First General Manager with a Five Man Board Directors, a supervisory Board and a credit Committee; this was done under the supervision of a Coopic delegation on Saturday the 29 of June 2019. KOMCCUL then launch its activities to the General Public on the 15 of July 2019 in the presence of the KOM Community in Douala. KOMCCUL has operated since then with many challenges which God has always helped them to overcome. Worthy of note of one of the major challenge KOMCCUL faced was the demolition of its First office where they started their activities. This demolition was done on Friday the 23 of September 2019 barely two after its foundation. God being so sovereign, KOMCCUL had rented a new office just beside the demolish office. They immediately move the office to this new office and have been operating there since the 24th of September 2019. Today KOMCCUL operates with a total of two branches. Branch 1 is KOMCCUL Head Office situated at Petrolex Ndobo Bonaberi Douala, and Branch 2 is situated at Camp Yabassi Akwa Douala. KOMCCUL has a membership of more than 150 members. Who come from different regions of the country. Some of which are non-nationals who have obtained their citizenship in Cameroon. In February 2021, KOMCCUL expanded their activities to provide Sharia Complaint Products to the Cameroonian Muslim Community by Launching and ISLAMIC ACCOUNT.
